need help with "Booking system" to help organise the rentals

Hello to all you great people.

I would like to introduce myself and explain why I am asking so many questions on this forum.

A local elderly couple have been running a help centre for deprived families. They are not a registered charity and do not have any assistance. They have a small shop, selling donated items and a large hall behind it, where they serve hot food and have an area for a local nurse to see people.

They are struggling to finance their efforts and myself and some friends have got together and refurbished the apartment, above the shop. The idea is for them to rent this and to boost their income, so that they can finance their centre.

I volunteered to make a basic "Booking system" to help organise the rentals for this apartment ("Silly me "). I have started with basic parts of this and I have been asking how to get some of these parts working. I do not expect anyone to do everything for me, I want to do as much as I can.

So if any of you guys can help, with any of my posts, please do.

    Thank You.

    Peter

Re: need help with "Booking system" to help organise the rentals

Hello everyone, I have been working for hours, to clean everything as best as I can and to give you all an idea of what I am trying to do. I have attached the workbook so far and the templates. A lot of it works as it is but there is still quite a lot to be finished.Thank you for your help already Arkadi and Mehmetcik. I have marked the outstanding thread as Closed because I don't want to duplicate the questions.

I have added the "Details" sheet, to give an idea what I am trying to do. Any suggestions welcome, these are only my ideas.

Re: need help with "Booking system" to help organise the rentals

I have solved a problem that I was having, with deleting Outlook appointments. The code I was using was a "with Loop" and apparently this way will usually miss appointments. I have found that the ideal way to do this, is to delete in reverse. This code works for as many are in the calendar, with a specific string in the body text, Quite smart I think.

Re: need help with "Booking system" to help organise the rentals

    UPDATE:

As I did not get any reply from my private message, I have continued to attempt to structure everything better. It's going well but I need to ask for some help. In the attached workbook, is the basic layout of the sheets that I am using.

The help that I need is: To make the calendar on the "Start" sheet show the quotes, the bookings unpaid and the bookings paid, in different colours, starting with the present month. And if I click on any one of them, the panel on the right will be populated with the booking details.

Can somebody please help with this. Thanks

Re: need help with "Booking system" to help organise the rentals

    Update.

I now have the "Quote" system working and the "Booking" system working, upto the deposit payment. I will next work on the ·Rental· paid system, which will be much easier as most of the booking information is already stored. I can now change the cells (On the info panel) that add or view deopsit and rent payments. I also have the cell (On the info panel) for View customer details working.

Please, anyone can help with the calendar part, to display the quotes period pending payment of deposit, the bookings period where deposit has been paid and the bookings period where rent has been paid, with thos cells linking to a macro that will bring the booking details into the info panel.... PLEASE.......

    Pete,
I'm not sure what exactly you are looking for, you mention "the calendar part", in which file? trials21.xlsx? Sheet2? you want the calendar to somehow display some info about quotes with no deposit paid, bookings where deposit IS paid, and bookings paid in full? You also say "those cells linking to a macro" meaning what? Which cells are we refering to and what do you mean by linking?

Re: need help with "Booking system" to help organise the rentals

    Hi Arkadi,

I have updated the worksheet, I have added "Paid" to the "Bookings" sheet, so that the macro can see it it is an unpaid booking, or a paid booking.

Maybe I have not been as clear as possible, so I will explain the way I am thinking.

The idea is, when a quote is made, it should show on the calendar grid, as colour 1. When the deposit is paid, then it becomes an unpaid booking, so the calendar grid for those dates would change to colour 2. When the rent is paid, then it becomes a paid booking, so the calendar grid for those dates would change to colour 3.

My logic for this is, if the system starts with the present month and the following month, displayed in the calendar part.

The calendar is on the "Start" sheet, sheet2 only shows how the calendar might be able to look, for different months, with notes.

1, It will look for dates within that period, in the "Quotes" Sheet, where the column "Confirmed" is showing "N". If it finds a Quote for any of those dates, it will change the cells to colour 1 and link the "Quotes" "Enq_Id" to those cells.

2, It will look in the will look for dates within that period, in the "Bookings" Sheet. where the column "Paid" is showing "N". If it finds a Booking for any of those dates, it will change the cells to colour 2 and link the "Bookings" "B_ID" to those cells.

3, It will look in the will look for dates within that period, in the "Bookings" Sheet. where the column "Paid" is showing a date, as in date paid. If it finds a Booking for any of those dates, it will change the cells to colour 3 and link the "Bookings" "B_ID" to those cells.

As I am very new to this, I am trying to apply logic to the problem.

If there is a better way to attack this, I am all ears and would appreciate any help.

    Thank You

Re: need help with "Booking system" to help organise the rentals

Still needing help with the calendar part of this. There was a guy helping but as he has not replied to my email for some weeks now, I guess that he has changed his mind.

It is now too late for this season but I really want to get this working for them, for next season, they are very deserving people.

If anyone can offer some help, please let me know.

    Thanks
