    drop down data /index match

    Hi,
    got a tricky one, although in my head it seems logical enough.
    can i display certain data in a drop down menu in different font colours depending on certain criteria?

    eg: i have a cascading drop down and after i select from the first list i would like the following DD lists to reference all previous lists in the row and display text in the current list in either of two colours depending on the following:

    an index match where it will go to the index sheet, reference the current DD selection from the list look across the row to columns entitled List_a and List_b and if any previous DD list selections appear in those cells, colour the text red for example and if not then leave text black.

    so in the following workbook, if i select the number 1 from the DD list the the next DD that appears will reference the same range as the first DD however in the list numbers 4 and 6 will appear in red and the rest of the list in black.

    Not sure I understand, does this help?

    Sub almostgenius()
    Dim x As Range
    Set x = Sheets("Index").Columns(1).Find(Sheets("Career Builder").Range("A2").Value, LookIn:=xlValues, lookat:=xlWhole)
        If Not x Is Nothing Then
            x.Offset(, 1).Font.ColorIndex = 3
            x.Offset(, 2).Font.ColorIndex = 3
        End If
    Set x = Nothing

    End Sub
