What does type of variable does .Value give

I am trying to get an integer out of a cell in Excel, but:

is giving me a type mismatch.

What's returned by Value depends what's in the cell.

It could be text, a numeric value, an error value, an array etc.

Have you checked what's in Target when you get the error?

Ah, no I hadn't thought of that, variable that is in there is a string.
