hi,

I was struggling for some time everytime I use function "TEXT" in worksheet because I know number formatting and date formatting in my english-locale environment will probably display incorrectly in spanish-locale ones.

so yesterday I found out that I can define a name and point to a obscure function call get.workspace and some parameter returns an array which finally gives me the decimal symbol, thousands symbol, and day-month-year symbol
which is nice.

but I have the feeling that everything runs much slower now, and this function seems to be the culprit.
can anyone confirm is that the case?
also -- can anyone provide a decent workaround?

I guess UDF is the way to go?
I have some system to store formulas as text and use them to recalculate values
