    Import data from MySQL automatically

    Hey
i want to import Data from MySQL. I have installed MySQL for Excel and it works with no Problems. Now i have this Problem:
I have a table in MySQL and i want to import it in Excel a several times. For excample: i want to have 5 times the table "Test". I just want to tell the Porgramm which table i like to import and the number. Now i want the programm to import the data 5 times automatically and put it one after another. Is this possible?

I already tried to record a Macro while i import a table from MySQL, but this doesn't work.

I'm no native English-speaker so please don't bother because of my mistakes.

    Best whishes Maggie

As far as I know MySQL for Excel is an add-in, so that's probably why recording a macro would produce no code.

I think what you'll need to do is write your own code using ADO.

Now that might sound difficult but you should find plenty of examples if you search.

    Here's one.

    Maggie,
Since you have excel 2010, you can use Powerpivot if you only require to import the tables from a database. You can import as many tables as you wish. You can also link the tables from different sources using lookup linked view. You do not need to write any code.
