I offered to help my dad in unlocking a very old excel workbook. At first I tried the following code
But I guess that's for opening a protected sheet.
I also tried the code breaker for WORKBOOKS described on this link http://www.zorvek.com/excel/unlockin...and-sheets.htm
But I couldn't get it to work.
- Either I am pasting it on the wrong place
- Is there a way to unprotect a workbook whose password is forgotten ?

Do you mean the workbook is protected so you cant modify it once you open it or the file itself needs a password before opening?

The workbook is password protected . So when I open it, it asks for a password. In teh background, I cant see any worksheet. Please see the attached

I did find this code in the workbook's module. Didnt know if this has anything to do with it ? See attached pic to see where I found this
