Active X Controls Stop working even after .exd files were deleted

I developed a worksheet that uses active x controls with a toggle button and two listboxes. The users enters a part number or part description and it checks a folder to display an image of that part. I ran into the issue where the .exd files needed to be deleted from the temp folders and everything worked great. Several users downloaded my tool and after deleting the .exd files we were able to get theirs running as well. Now about half the users cannot make the active x controls work (even ones that had it working) and half the users still dont have any problems. I have spend HOURS trying to find a resolution. I know the windows updates are complete and the .exd temp files are deleted. What else would keep the controls from working? Thanks in advance. Also please keep in mind I am a very novice VBA programmer and this is my first project. I tried to upload the worksheet but for some reason i cannot get that feature of this forum to work for me.

I was in a similar situation even after deleting the .exd files. The only way I fixed it was by uninstalling the Office updates from December 2014.

I went into a machine that wasn't working and completely removed the windows update and the active x controls still are not working. When i try to rename the controls or go into the programming it just gives me some object warning and wont let me rename the controls or do anything to the controls. Any other ideas

I think I had to delete the .exd files again after removing the update. If that doesn't work, I'm not sure I have any other ideas.

Thanks i will give this a try and check. I am starting to think it may be best to go back to form controls. Your help is greatly appreciated
