    Enabling Macros

I have a VBA macro that stopped working on my new Surface Pro 3 which is running Excel 2013. The macro was originally written on my desktop in Excel 2007, however, for the last several months it had been working just fine on both machines. However, recently after I added a directory to my "trusted locations", the macro on the Surface Pro 3 stopped working. I have tried adjusting all of the settings under "security", however, I just can't seem to get it working again. The exact same file works perfectly on my desktop.

Here's two additional hints that might help diagnose this problem:
When i go to click on the macro start button, the cursor doesn't change into an arrow as it's supposed to.
When I delete the location of this file from trusted locations, I don't get prompted by a security warning when I first load the file.

Again, I want to emphasize, the macro still runs fine on my desktop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Right click on the button to check that the macro is still assigned to the button.
Check that your firewall is not blocking the macro. lack of virus protection

Yes, when I right click on the button in design mode, my code is still there. Please note that I have repeatedly copied the file from my desktop (which works) onto a flashdrive and then to my Surface Pro 3. It works on the desktop but not on the Surface Pro!

Not sure how to check my firewall in Windows 8.1. I'm still getting used to it!

    Thanks ExcelGuy2!

I found the firewall menu and I am experimenting. More than likely, I'm still in need of direction. Anyone else out there able to lend a hand?
