change col A vaules based on odd col b values

we 'paste text' a large data scape from a webpage into empty sheet cell A1, then it can be widely variable length, width not relevant (ends up 8 cols??)

right now we only care about cols A and B

col b values can be blank, short, long.. messy
IF col b has the word 'arrives' starting at position 5 (there are other probable valid conditions to test, but this is bullet proof)
we need to copy the 1st three character of the B text over to left (col A)
IF NOT, need to blank out cell to left (col A)

I troubleshot/subbed a lot and am dizzy swapping and looking for logic or my nemesis syntax (plus, frustrated, as this isn't too hard). My gut says my IF statement line is bad.

Now back to your problem. Yes you are correct, you need to change your if statement but to know the answer, add the tags as requested around your code first and to do so Edit your first post and follow the instructions to add tags around the code.
