date and time pivot chart help

I am stuck... please help...once I can figure out how to format the chart the way I want it, I will put it into VBA

I have the date in the first column, time in the second column, and a variable in the third column. I want to create a pivot stacked bar chart showing the time slots that have a variable next to them, like this:

I created this chart by filling the blanks between 4444 and 5555 with a number between them such as 4445. Then changing the color to match the "blank" color - this is obviously very crude and will not work in the actual code.

Here is the sample data file:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Any creative solutions? Messing with it more I was able to get closer using a scatter plot - not perfect but it could work... I still wish there was a more elegant solution.
