What's the value in column B when you get the error?

Also, are there any restrictions on what can be entered in the field?

    For example, nulls not allowed.

I was asking if there were any restrictions on the field, no nulls allowed was just an example.

Is tblLiterature the name of the table?

If it is then in the Open statement you either need to put it in quotes,
