    Can I use cell values to define a range?

    I'm trying to use the value in a particular cell to help define a range. For example, I need the range to be =COUNTIFS(Sheet1!E2:E now here's where I want to use the value from cell Sheet2!L36, which is the active sheet. Ideas?
