Sequential number plus save and clear macro

I have tried everything that I have been able to find online including youtube videos, various macros and still I am not able to get an order to work.

Surely it cant be so difficult, what am I doing wrong.

I downloaded a microsoft template from the search bar in excel, "Garamond Grey" I have changed it to suit my needs and the relevant cell that I need the number in is E3.

I also want to be able to save the order when done using the same number eg: 000001 then 000002 etc.

Please can anyone help me out with this its driving me crazy and taking up far too much time.
