Pause Other Timers when another is Started

For the lack of appropriate keywords to match searches, i have posted this to seek help.

I've no VB programming experience. Intended purpose is to create an Excel Time and Motion study.

I've a set of tasks in Column A which I would like to measure. At times, Users flip from task A to task B then back to A and so on. I would like to be able to pause a timer on task A if when timer on task B is started and same as well with the other tasks.. When Task A is started again, it should continue the timer if not add the on-going time to the presently running time under that task.

Any help on this is very much appreciated.

When you say timers what are you using the VB timer?

Nothing in particular, just a function that would run and pause when another one has been triggered active and will continue once the button is clicked again. It will be a set of buttons in-line with each Line item parameter and work(Start-Pause) dependent on the state of other timers.
