    Personal.xlsb read only msg

    Hello,

When I open an instance of excel I always have a message personal.xlsb telling me that it is already in use and lock for editing. I click notify and a couple seconds later, it display another message to tell me that it's now available for editing.

1 - Can I delete personal.xlsb (I have not written any code in it, in a long time)
    2 - Could I disable this msg

    Would you know about that?

    Thankfully.
    -Phil

check in your XLSTARTUP folder to find the personal.xlsb. You can safely delete this if you don't have any macros saved in it / or don't need saved macros any more.

    Re: Personal.xlsb read only msg

I also have my personal.xlsb saying it is a read only. I have macros in it and when I looked at the attributes the read only box was not checked.
    What could be my problem?

I don't want to delete this as I have taken a bit of time in creating the macros.

Can I make the macro that is in my personal folder and attach it into the wookbook?

    thanks in advance

Never mind I worked out how to do it, that is getting a macro from my personal.xlsb file and store it into a different workbook, thanks anyway.
