Help with Macro / Trying to search to sheets in same workbook and highlith data

I would be very happy if someone could help me with a project I am working on.

I have a worksheet with multiple sheets.

Users and Data

In users column A has email contacts from people that accessed a recoding on line. I need to be able to cross reference with another sheet called data where I will have their full name.

Basically I would like a macro that will check column A in users sheet and check in data the name column . If it finds last name or partial name in the meail it will highlith it in the users sheet and in the name column in data

User sheet
Column A is raw 1 is heading username

data sheet
column B is raw 1 Last Name

That way I am able to quickly identify a group of people if they did not watch the recording as user gives me indication on what they did.

I have no idea if it is possible but your help would be really appreciated!!!

here is how it will look

It may be that the last name will find more than one Macdonald but because the email only had the initial it will be not possible I guess to automatically check it but if it does highlight both macdonald I can manually review which one it was.

hm...
a little question:
does always the users have in their email address first string from first name & entire last name separated (or not) with DOT?
Can I take this rule as basis for comparison?
Or are there more modifications for email address?
(More than 1 occurence of Madonald can be highlighted with different colour)

Hello yes most of the time it will be that format. It can happen that it is a different format but not often so I shall be able to sort those out manually.
