I have a *.xls with a bunch VBA macros I maintain in Excel 2007. The file has a rich history and I have started it in Excel 2003. Work and save of the file in Excel 2007 and 2010 is working without any problem. There is also code on the sheets.

In Excel 2013 it is possible to open the *.xls file. It is also possible to save the file without error message. But if you open the file saved with Excel 2013. Excel crashes immediately.

If the file is corrupt there is no help:
- If I open the file in safe mode, it also crashes. I even crashes, if there is no code executed on opening the file. It seems the presence of the code causes an issue.
- If I save in 2013 the file in xlsm format, it shows the same behavior.
- I have disabled the Autorun macro

But if you open the corrupt file in Excel while pressing the shift key (disable macro execution), it opens.

Is there a way to prevent the crash?
Is is a known 2013 issue?

I would be happy to provide the file via PM.
