Another Question About R1C1 Notation in VBA

Greetings to all,

I hope this is relatively simple to answer,

Is the VBA Statement

ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = ""

the same as stating

ActiveCell.Value = ""

????

Don't know if this clears anything up. They both do the same thing by making the activecell blank. However one R1C1 does it with a formula and .value places an actual value of blank into the cell. The results are exactly the same.
