    Question Movement on a spreadsheet

Is there anyway to control the next cell Excel moves to upon hitting enter on a spreadsheet?

I wish to enter a number in lets say C5 and upon hitting return make cell H5 the active cell of focus. I only need it to move across columns and not down or up rows. If you can do both that would be even better. For then I would be able to enter the last number in a row and then have the cursor move to a position in the next row, which would not necessarily be in column A.

I guess what I need is the equivalent of Upon Exit Set Focus To. I just cannot figure this out. I hope somebody out there has had a need for such control and has already figured out how to direct focus to cells other than any of the immediate surrounding cells.

Pleas feel free to contact me at xxxxxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxxxx if you have an answer or have developed a routine or need any additional information.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

    Sam

The usual way is to unlock the cells you want to enter data in and then to protect the worksheet.

Protect all the cells, then unprotect the cells you want to have entries in (Highlight the cells/unprotect) - then protect the worksheet (right-click the tab and select "protect"

Then go into options (not exactly sure where it is in 2003), and (find and) select the option that will move the cursor right on enter

    Hi,

On a purely practical point are you sure you really want to leave your email address in your original post. It's not unknown for web bots to trawl for these things.
