Capture Date of highest value of stock Portfolio

I am trying to capture the date at which my portfolio was at it's highest. I enter the value of my portfolio in H35. F36 is where I am trying to capture the date at which my portfolio was the highest. If a previous date was higher, leave as is.

This presents a problem of a circular reference, but do not know a way around this.

I have the following formula in F36
    =IF(H35>G36,(F37),(F36))

    In F37 is todays date

    G36
    =IF(G36<=H35,(H35),(G36))

H35 is value of my portfolio today

How about a sample of data, Where is the list of dates for the values of your portfolio? There seems to be a way easier way to get what you are want with out all the forumulas.

    Is all of F dates?

    Thanks for the reply nemo74,

F37 is todays date which is updated daily.
F36 is where I am tring to capture the date at which the portfolio is at it's peak.
G36 is the highest value of the portfolio to date
H35 is the present day value of the portfolio

    Hope this helps,
    Frank

    Hi there,
So can you upload a small sample sheet? Just throw in some bogus numbers. I need to see what is in the rest of the sheet. I don't like doing work on assumptions. What you are asking is really easy to get. What is in A-E? and 1-35? I just need more information on how to match, what you are giving is not enough information to get a formula.

Sorry Nemo74, The data in the rest of the sheet is very personal and I can't share on the forum. None of which pertains to this problem. Hopefully you can work with what I have submitted with the addition of the following which are the only cells affecting this equation:

F37 is todays date of 4/24/2013
F36 is the last date of which was the highest value for G36 versus H35
    H35 is 100 for today
G36 is the highest value to date

Sorry I can't share the rest of the sheet but it is very proprietary.

    Frank
