    Post Trying to subtract

    Hi there,
This will most likley sound silly, I am a huge lover of excel but I have a mental blank and its driving me crazy! I am tring to create a formula that subtract from each other as new figures are entered. For example, I enter the daily fuel usage in a service station, the dip entered for Diesel each day goes into one colum, in colum 32A I am trying to have this colum show the amount of diesel used for the month... see below

    Date Daily Dip

    1 65,000
    2 61,000
    3 57,000
    etc
    etc
    etc

    TOTAL USED 37,000

I need the total field to subtract the daily dip from the opening dip.... is there a simple formula or do I need to do each cell on its own meritt?

    Thanks
    Matt

    Re: Trying to subtract

    ??

if the first dip is in A1
in B2 =A1-A2 --fill formula down...

    or for the last row

    =A1-Last dip
I think people forget the word "THANK YOU!!!!" Do you still know it???

Hello verduco9, and welcome to the forum.
