Down arrows have appeared on my columns unexpectedly

I am suddenly seeing "down arrows', I think used for a pick list or sorting at the top of my spreadsheet columns. How can i remove those? I dont know how they appeared and I dont need them... Thanks !

    Hi Alan

    Welcome to the forum

These can be either Autofilter switched on - in which case got to the Data tab and click Filter and they should disappear.

Or, you may have your data converted into a Table, which applies the Filter buttons automatically. If you click within your data and you see a Design tab, then it is a Table. Click Design tba and choose option Convert Table to Range.
