How to Make Part of the Worksheet Inaccessible

I have seen templates where the only access you have to that sheet is within the parameters of the cells that are being used. It is handy in that when you tab it only goes to the active cells that you are using within the sheet. The cursor will goe to the end on a row and then wrap around to column A on the next row.

To do that you need to define a range or ranges that users can edit. To do that you will select the cells that you want people to be able to edit. Then right click on one of the cells and select format cells, under the protection tab uncheck the locked box.

Then go up to tools/Protection/Allow Users to Edit Range. When the dialogue box appears click new. By default the selected ranges are in the box. If you want to add a password to that specific range you may. or just click protect sheet. Then put a check mark only by the box that says select unlocked cells. Now only those rages may be edited.
