Retrieve data from a column

Hi,
I'm having a big problem, hope someone will give me the solution.
There is one column in my worksheet that counts approximatively 5000 cells, filled with all kind of codes.
My problem is to find one of those codes by starting with his first letter or figure. After putting in the first letter, I would like to see a drop down list with all codes starting with that letter. After putting a second letter of the code, a drop drop down list with all codes starting with the two first letters, etc...
I don't know if this is possible. Please can someone help me????
