    Help With Spreadsheet-Automating?

    Hi All,

Apologies in advance, I'm quite new to using excel, and would like some help with a spreadsheet I'm putting together.

I have 5 columns consisting of cill length a,b (merged cells) - cill width/depth c,d (merged cells) - quantity e,f (merged cells) - cost in euros g,h (merged cells) - cost in pounds i,j (merged cells).

Cill width consist's of a list of cill width's - each cill width has a cost. For example 50mm costs 5.35 euros, 150mm costs 11.12 euro's.

If I select from cell c,d 3 from the list 50mm, I would like cell g,h 3 to be entered automatically with 5.35 if quantity is 1, however if quantity is 2 for the 5.35 to double to 10.70 euros.

I would also like (if possible) the euro's cost to be converted to pounds automatically. For example 10.70 euros is £9.38 (would it be possible to have the exchange rate set at a fixed rate. i.e 0.96 per 1 euro)?

If anyone could give me some assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: Help With Spreadsheet

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook.

If needed supply a before and after sheet in the workbook so the person helping you can see what you are trying to achieve.

Doing this will ensure you get the result you need!

Thank you, I have attached a copy of the workbook in question. If anyone can help and needs to ask any question I'll be happy to answer them as best as I can.

    Many Thanks

Apologies, I didn't enter example data.

I re-uploaded a new copy with example data, one thing I omitted from previous post, would be to calculate cost of end caps from o,p 2 from the costs relavent to the cill width which can be seen seen from l,r 23.

    Re: Help With Spreadsheet-Automating?-Using Vlookup

Here is your example back, I used if(iserror(... formula
    XL'07 has a formula Iferror(... I don't have XL'07 , but I am sure the formula I used works for XL'07.
The conversion .88 was not the same as the numbers you had in the example, possibly just more decimals required to get the actual number.

Post back for anything else required.
