Multiple lines of text in one vertically merged cell

If I have data like the following

    A1
    A2 Name
    A3 Rank
    A4 Color
    A5

Can I have the contents of the cells A2:A4 appear in a single cell which is the result of the merger of those same three cells?

    A1
    A2 Name
    Rank
    Color
    A5

I have researched and messed around with Merger and Concatenate but so far to no avail.

    Thank you

Try this formula in cell B2: =A2&" "&A3&" "&A4. Then Merge and Center cells B2:B4.

Or, simply merge cells A2:A4 before you enter datas.

Thanks, but your result displays Name, Rank and Color concatenated from left to right.

    Name Rank Color

My goal is that they should appear stacked vertically, like this

    Name
    Rank
    Color

... but in a single cell.

I was guessing that if this is possible, the cell in which they appear would have to be merged from 3 vertically stacked cells.

    Again, thanks for your input.

Re: Multiple lines of text in one vertically merged cell

    Still not solved.

I have learned that it is possible, actually very easy, to have multiple lines of text appear in a single cell if you're inputting manually.

To try it, pick a cell and manually enter the following: Multiple<Alt/Enter>Rows

... where <Alt/Enter> represents you actually holding the Alt key and hitting the Enter key.

Excel will adjust the height of the cell and you'll see:

    Multiple
    Rows

This is good to know but it doesn't solve my problem because I can't manually enter the entire database manually, carefully choosing here to use <Alt/Enter> in a way that I couldn't train a macro to duplicate.

So my original question remains unresolved.
