Symphony software functionality compared to Excel

Years ago, before Excel, there was a system called "Smyphony." It was a combination of all work evironments: word processing, data entry as well as spreadsheets. It allowed for easy creation of data entry programing while using the spreadsheet function. I need to know if Excel will do the same thing. Can you create easy to function data entry programing using Excel?

Sorry, but it has been awhile since I have to use either data entry or spreadsheets, but I need to create simply entry devices for others for quick entry of information.

Symphony is still being continued by IBM after their aquisition of Lotus.

Excel functions the way of the spreadsheet functions within Symphony. Symphony is more like MS Works.
