need help counting

Need help in counting the number of "X" in columns designated as dates....i have 7 guys and need to show how many number of days they are scheduled to work on weekdays and the number of days they work on weekends for a period of 3 months.

Set your worksheet up with names in Column A and dates in Row 1

the formula I believe you are looking for is

=sumproduct(--(A2:AG2={"X"}))
