    auto fill cells

    Hi,

I did a search and couldn't find any answer to my query. What i wanted to do is auto fill cells with user details (my details) rather than typing it over and over again since i use the same template spreadsheet everyday.

on sheet4 cells G25-G26 always has my user details

I know this may be easy, but yeah i'm a newbie.

    thanks guys

Where did the template come from? Are others using the same template with "their details"?

Question 1. What's to prevent you from saving the worksheet (either as a workbook or a template) after filling in the details but before filling in the variable items and then reusing that again and again?

Alternately, You could record your actions in a macro in your personal macro workbook and then run that macro every time you want to enter those details.

Yes, unfortunately it is a template used here at work which means i can't just save my details on it.
A macro is definitely a good idea. How would i save the macro though? Bear in mind i can't save it on the template. Can someone pls help with this? Thanks again

Depending on how your system was set up, you might already have a "personal macro workbook" and not be aware of it. It's typically kept hidden but is available in the background.

To check, start to record a macro (tools>macros>record new macro) and check your dropdown box for "Store in:". See if there's a personal macro workbook listed in that dropdown.
