Getting Continuous Data from Another Excel File

Have you tried the Workbooks.Open "Myworkbook.xls" command, and then copying and pasting the range of numbers.

On the other hand if they are random numbers, why do you need to open another workbook? Why not simply generate a new series of random numbers in the current workbook? Or is there something special about the random numbers?

The Reason I am using random numbers is I have an idea for a spread sheet that will come in handy at work where the data is generated in another excel file live from a process. From that data I intend to work out the running standard Deviation allowing me to spot when the process it trending out of control earlier than present. I am doing this at home with random data so as I can learn how its done so when I do it at work I don't look to foolish I really am very new at excel.

I haven't tried the Workbooks.Open command but I will give it a go thankyou.
