    Adding in a single cell..?

    Hi
    I'm trying to create a worksheet where I can enter numeral amounts into one single cell repeatedly while having another cell keep the total. Is it possible?

    Not without VBA
    Please Login or Register  to view this content.
    Right click on the sheet tab and select view codes
    copy and paste the above code there
    whenever you change A1 the total will change in B1

    Thanks very much for doing that - I'm relatively new to excel so it would have taken me a v long time to figure that one out
    Excuse my ignorance but is this code used solely in Excel of in other applications too? It reminds me a bit of the old BASIC I used to use on my Spectrum back in the 80s.

    I believe you are correct that it came from basic, I remember taking basic in 1982 or 83,, anyway here is a quick write up on "what is VBA"
