Absolute references

I have a Total cell that is adding up many non sequential cells above in a cashflow.
I want to make these cells absolute but I also want to copy my Total cell across many other columns.
I know how to make a cell absolute but then I can't copy it across.

Hope there's a timesaving solution other than manually typing it in.

Hi
I assume all you need to keep absolute is the position in the row not the column.
If this is correct a celle reference like A$3 can be used

The problem that I am trying to solve is that when I move figures in some of the working cells left/right the next total cells throughs up "REF" errors because it appears to adjust the referances of those cells moved.
It happens in some parts of my model but not in others. I can't understand the differances.
