    Pushing data to cells

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I'm quite new to Excel.

I'm happy using functions in a cell where I need to calculate a value for that cell. Now I've hit a problem where I need to calculate a cell address (or addresses) and then push a value to the appropriate address (es). Can I do that and if so how?

It seems that problem was outside the scope of my training so I'm lost. Any help would be gratefully received.

    Thanks.

    Good morning BlueVinney

You've not been that explicit in saying exactly what you need to do, but here's my take on what you need:

Excel cannot "push" data to a cell using a formula, but a cell can "pull" data from any cell in any accessible worksheet. A cell formula is also passive in that it cannot search for or identify other cell ranges, although you may beable to use the row and column functions depending on what you are trying to do. You may well have to resort to VBA (macros).
