I have a spreadsheet that I log the distance I walk and the time it takes to do that walk. I need a formula to change the standard Hr:Minute format to a decimal. I can do it by using one column for the hour and one for the minutes, but it messes up my sheet, it is cumbersome, I don't like the way it looks, and I think there is a more "clean" way to do it. I would like a formula the renders me 1.5 when I enter 1:30. Or renders me 1.62 when I enter 1:37. Thanks for your help.

To make a conversion to decimals use this simple formula
Enter in B1 and copy down
