    Datedif

    Hello all,

Absolute beginner to excel so just want to understand something about cells.

I want to know if a cell can be given a behaviour for want of a better word. I understand I can use the DATEDIF function to return an age using a date of birth but it appears I have to use two cells to do this.
Is it possible to enter a date of birth in a single cell, and upon hitting the enter key, have the formula change the date of birth to the age in the same cell?

Welcome to the forum.I'd like to ask for you to take a look to forum rules and try to have a better title next time that you'll post here.

About your question the answer is NO. You can not do this using a formula. Perhaps using VBA but not formula.

In order to accomplish what you ask, you will need to use VBA. This is not possible using formulas as it will generate a circular error.
