Hello,
I am trying to make on cell that contains 17 characters= a cell with only the last 6 characters of the 17.
VIN#= last 6 of VIN#
Try
=RIGHT(A1,6)
Or select the entire column, and go to Data - then use Text to Columns.
From there, select Delimited, and then manually select the spot you want to chop off the numbers. When you click finish, it will automatically split the data in the column in the spot you selected.
You should hit F5, because chances are I've edited this post at least 5 times.
Example of Array Formulas
Click the * below on any post that helped you.
basically I am trying to make a formula to get the left column (minus the * of course)
*008163 1HGCT1B35EA008163
*000213 19XFB5F50EE000213
*011627 5FNYF4H55FB011627
*015710 5FNYF4H24FB015710
Try:Formula:
=MID($A1,SEARCH(" ",$A1)+1,LEN($A1))
I see no reason why the suggestion in post #2 wont work, did you try it?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
