    min max ordering

I am trying to create a stock table that will give me min max orders , this table needs to be updated by another spread sheet that is downloaded daily
I have created the table and inserted the formulas to calculate the order amounts as well as a pivot table to consolidate the information, however the issue I am having is that every time I copy the information from the new spread sheet it mucks up the alignment of the existing stock because new product may have been entered .
I have attached the two files to help explain where I am up to. any help would be appreciated.

    You use excel 2007.

You can make a table of your data => excel 2007 => insert table.

If you add new data (direct below) the table (next row) the table will expand.

Using a pivot table will need to refresh => data => refresh pivot table, to get the new data in the pivot table.
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

Thankyou for the reply, however I don't think I was clear in what I need to do, as you can see from the files attached the test file is the destination that does what it needs to do , where I come unstuck is when I copy the data from the stock valuation report, it over writes all cells in the test file. I need it to update existing stock qty's and add in any new stock .

    Hi dragne,

I'm trying to follow what you want to do.

The 'Min Max Ordering Test File' workbook (First Workbook) has 2 worksheets, 'Stock Valuation' & 'Order Sheet'.

The 'Min Max Ordering stockvaluationreport2' workbook (Second Workbook) has 1 worksheet, 'StockValuationReport'.

Are you adding the data from 'Second Workbook' to the 'Stock Valuation' worksheet in the 'First Workbook' & then update the Pivot table?
Remember you are unique, like everyone else

    Re: min max ordering

How about update the new data in the test file instead in a new file every day?

In that case you don't have to copy the data in the testfile (every day).

Then again you could make a table of your data (as I suggested in #2).
