    Distance - Speed and Time

I am trying to set up a simple table for distance speed and time using two variables. These are:- ship's speed and departure time from Southampton.

I want to show the arrival time at the Azores using the 24 hour clock system. in fact all hours should reflect the 24 hours clock system.

I have now become somewhat lost.

A sample of he file is attached.

    Any help would be appreciated.

The table is for a fact fiction book.

Re: Distance - Speed and Time

    Vikas,

Thanks for the note. Your calculations do not seem quite right because the travelling time to the Ile d' Quessant is around 10 hours.

    Richard,

Your scheme seems to be an interesting alternative. Its getting late here in Hong Kong so please let me study it and I shall reply tomorrow - Monday.

Re: Distance - Speed and Time

    Hello Richard,

Your suggestion and change of format is excellent.

I have managed to add in another item to the voyage, so using the variables gives me great freedom to work out speeds and times.

    Thank you very much.

Re: Distance - Speed and Time

    Hi David,

Thanks for the feedback and glad to help.

You've obviously worked it out but I should have said that other segments can be added simply by copying and pasting existing ones and simply linking the To/From cells and adjusting the Arrival time link to the previous segment's arrival time.

I note that the segment 2 'From' cell was painted yellow. Following the format I had adopted there should have been no colour. Yellow cells were meant to indicate input and no colour cells being formula.
