    Conditional Formatting

In the attached, I am trying to create a rule for the business I am running. I need a rule applied to the entire column if the upcoming review says past. I need every row to have a strikethrough (line through the word) for the entire column that shows Past. In the attached row 6,8,11,12 will have every cell have a strike through.

I also need to have the review date formatted to blue text if the review date falls on a saturday or sunday. Not sure how to make a rule for this.

    Re: Conditional Formatting

With all those cells selected (i.e. A5:G12), click on Conditional Formatting | New Rule | Use a Formula... , then enter this formula in the dialogue box:

    =$D5="Past"

Then click the Format button, and on the Font tab click against Strikethrough, then OK your way out.

For the second part, highlight the cells F5:F12, then click on CF | New Rule | Use a Formula... , and enter this formula in the box:

    =WEEKDAY(F5,2)>5

then click the Format button | Fill tab and choose your colour (blue), then OK your way out again. Excel will automatically adjust the cell references to suit your selected cells each time.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Conditional Formatting

That works for the stirke through however the review date needs to be formatted in blue if it shows saturday and sunday. Also I had a formula in there if ALERT is seen I needed only the world ALERT to be in red. Looks like the strike throughs are all red now.

    Re: Conditional Formatting

I prefer to describe how to set it up (after I've done it), as I doubt the file is the real one so the OP will need to set it up in that - I had my file from the testing, so it was easy enough to attach it.

    Re: Conditional Formatting

@Pete....I totally understand that....and it's weird....it really depends on the mood I'm in at the time, or maybe if I'm time pressured because I'm doing 4 things at once, I'll put the file out there...and then explain if they have questions....
