Deleting Filtered Rows But Not The Header

I have filtered my data based on the header row and would like to delete the rows that are left showing. In this forum I've learned that I can apply the following to my filtered result; click on FIND & SELECT, then choose GO TO SPECIAL and from there, I can choose VISIBLE CELLS ONLY and DELETE. The only problem is that I don't want to delete my header row and I don't seem to be able to unselect it using the CTRL key.

My question is, how can I delete the filtered rows and leave my header row intact? (no sample attached as this is a general question)

Re: Deleting Filtered Rows But Not The Header

    Hello,
    Here's the technique I used.
Assuming header starts in cell A1
    1. Filter the data
    2. place the cursor in cell A1
    3. Press key down once
    4. CTRL + SHIFT + Right to select all the columns (you may need to repeat if there are empty cells)
    5. CTRL + SHIFT + Down to select all visible rows (you may need to repeat if there are empty cells)

At this point, you should have only the visible cells selected, example A3:F200

    6. Finally, suppress the lines (I have a shortcut in my QAT bar)

Takes less than 2 seconds if you have the shortcut in the QAT and use the keyboard shortcuts.

Re: Deleting Filtered Rows But Not The Header

Thanks to GC Excel for the reply and subsequent help.

After selecting the range I wanted deleted, GC Excel explained to me that "suppressing the lines" could be done easily by right-clicking on any selected cell and then the command menu would appear so I could choose "Delete Row". Provided my header row wasn't selected, this works fine.

Re: Deleting Filtered Rows But Not The Header

    Hi,
I have faced the same issue in 2007, I tried folowing way it worked:
    1. Keep the cursor on header cell eg, I wanted to filter by Product Name so I kept my cursor in Product Name Header.
    2. Click on Data>Filter
3.Select Rows Number at Left most
    4. Right Click> Delete Rows

Note: If only Delete option is displayed then it will delete hidden rows also, Try and follow steps again the option should be 'Delete Rows'

Please let me know if it worked
    Gud Luck

Re: Deleting Filtered Rows But Not The Header

This second solution worked as well and left the headers and hidden data intact. A nice, easy resolution. Thanks.
