    Find the Odd One Out

    Hi all,

Just posting here on the off chance that someone will know a fast way of doing this as I've got no clue.

I've basically got Two Lists of Names. One list has 7365 Names and one has 7366. I'm missing 1 name in one list. The list consists of many different surnames, some multiple times over. I basically need to find the ONE Name in the 2nd List. I've put one list into Colum A and one list into Colum B. The Extra Name is in Colum B.

Anyone got any ideas? At the moment, im sifting through the list name by name but I've got multiple lists to go through and this is just one. Some of the lists have almost 20,000 names in so this is quite a small one but thought if I could fix this then I could apply it to the others.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Find the Odd One Out

    Hi,

If the question is how do I identify the names that are in list B that are not in list A then
assuming list B is column B and list A is column A on the same sheet

    then in C1

Re: Find the Odd One Out

put in c1 =COUNTIF($A$1:$A$7365,$b1)<>COUNTIF($B$1:$B$7366,$B1) fill down then filter by col c on true or you could use that as a conditional format formula on column b
this is if the additional name may be duplicated eg you have 2 wilsons in list a and 3 in list b
    corrected now
