Question Custom Format

Hi gurus,

I have a set of numbers I wan to use custom format (currency). Can anyone guide me on how should I put my formatting for it to work?

below is the sample numbers I have;
6.00 (6.0)
7.00 (7.0)
15.99 (16.0)
20.00 (20.0)
180.55 (180.6)
195.00 (195.0)
Into this;
RM 6.00 (6.0)
RM 7.00 (7.0)
RM 15.99 (16.0)
RM 20.00 (20.0)
RM 180.55 (180.6)
RM 195.00 (195.0)
I tried using "RM ###.## (##.#)" but it seems doesn't work.

Any experts help is very much appreciated!
Thanks!

EDIT: I've attached a sample for perusal. sample.xlsx

Re: Custom Format

Are they all in 1 cell? I mean 6.00 (6.0) in 1 cell, 15.99 (16.0) in 1 cell, etc?

If so, these are not numbers, and number formats wont work onthem

If they are in their own cells try this...
"RM" #.00
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Hi.. I'm sorry but the list of numbers are filtered and I prefer to change the format using custom format. I don't think formula will work well. again, thanks for the help..

Yes, all each numbers are in vertically each cell. I tried using your format, doesn't work.

BTW the numbers within the cell has some blank space from the start.. for example; " 6.00 (6.0)" OR " 180.55 (180.6)". This is because the numbers are generated from a system i have here and no where i can remove them trailing space in front before exporting.

any help? :D:D

Re: Custom Format

Like I said, if you have 6.00 (6.0) in 1 cell, 15.99 (16.0) in 1 cell, they are not numbers, they are text...number formats will have no affect on them

Try aj's suggestion in post #2
