    Smile which formula helps me to look up data ?

    Greetings,

    after a long time i m visiting this forum now.
    btw i m faceing problem with my workbook.
    my workbook contains a sales report.
    A1:C7 full details about sales man

    i m preparing sales report for a day but i dont like to mention sales person contact number and mail id again and again in H coloum and I coloum. i put data validation in coloum G. is there any foumula to fill H and I (contact number and mail id of sales man) coloums as per G coloum?

    i mean to say if (G2) sales man is raman i should get automatically his contact number in H2 and same his Mail id in I2

    please help me...i have big list but for sample purpose i attached a small workbook

    try this in H2 =VLOOKUP($G2,$A$2:$C$7,2,FALSE)
    and this in I2 =VLOOKUP($G2,$A$2:$C$7,3,FALSE)
    then drag down.

    In H2 copy and paste this formula and drag it to the right and down

    =VLOOKUP($G2,$A$2:$C$7,COLUMNS($B$2:C2),0)

    Put this formula in H2:

    =VLOOKUP(G2,A:B,2,0)

    and this one in I2:

    =VLOOKUP(G2,A:C,3,0)

    and then copy both down to the bottom of your list in column G.

    btw there is no other way?
    i saw somwhere other way...its looks same like data validation....but i forgot now...
