    Print chosen selections

    Hello all,

I have a spreadsheet using VLookup for a bit of information for work. Basically I select a model, and a color, and it will auto populate all of the part numbers I need to build the selected model, along with giving me a generic spreadsheet to keep track of my progress that I print out. The only bothersome part of this is having to select each one separately, and print them all seperately. I would like to make an option to just select all that I would like, print one time, and have it print each selection... I'm attaching copy of my spreadsheet so hopefully you can see it and it makes more sense...

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi SuddenImpact

I think I have interpreted your requirements correctly - set up several jobs and then print them all together. So choose a job and click on mark it for printing. Repeat until finished. Click on Print button.

Let me know if it works for you.

By the way I note that there is no Bella Silver on the lookup sheet. Good job I put in my error traps!

    Hi Alastair,

Thanks for your help, that's definitely cool what you did there Unfortunately it's not exactly what I'm looking for, I think maybe I worded it wrong. Instead of clicking through the pull down menu each time, I'd like to make something like some check-boxes I think... Where you can select all the models and colors, and then print them all with one click. Example...

    Encore - Black - Quantity 12
    Silver - Quanitity 8
    Retreat - Glacier White - Quantity - 15
    Starlight Blue - Quantity - 15

    ect.

Select a model - then all the colors needed - and enter a quantity needed for each color then print the checklist for all.... if that makes sense...

    Thanks again!

Hi, Go to the "Pivot" Tab and select the Models and Colors that you like. Then print it.

    Hi SuddenImpact

I still do not understand what you want (it's probably an age thing) and it may well be that Xx7's solution works for you.

If not, perhaps you could explain further. At the moment I am thinking that you need 12 copies of Encore - black, 8 copies of Encore - silver etc. You want to select the model, select a colour, select quantity, move on to next colour, select quantity. For all this you prefer not to use the drop down (but I am having difficulty in imagining how else to select). At which point do you want to print?

Am I any where near what you want?

    Regards
    Alastair

    Re: Print chosen selections

    Hi Aydeegee,

I've attached a new sample of what I would like to be able to do. Basically, on the right, select a mold from the list. Then select all the colors needed by checking the boxes, and manually typing in the number needed next to that. Afterwards, I would like the information to auto fill the appropriate places on the checklist and print one sheet, for each color.

    Thanks!

    Re: Print chosen selections

    Hi SuddenImpact

Here's the solution. I have done away with the check boxes (very pretty, but unnecessary ).

Just enter the model and quantity required for each colour and press the "Print" box. The macro should then run. Be aware that if you have not used macros before, you may have to adjust your security settings. Also be aware that when I save the macro, the warns me that it may be incompatible with Excel 2003 - just see how you get on. When you have finished printing you may choose to clear the screen of irrelevant information by clicking on the "Clear" button.

Let me know if I have interpreted your request correctly.

Nevermind, I just found where it is cleared in the code you made and removed it. It works perfect now!

    Thank you so much!

    Re: Print chosen selections

    Hi Aydeegee,

It works great, that is exactly what I was looking for! The only issue I'm having now, is I had lookup function in cell I5 that keeps being removed when I print, so the data in that cell is removed. Any idea why that would happen?

Cell I5 should have this function - =VLOOKUP(H75,Lookup!$A$2:$G$137,2,FALSE)

Thanks for your help, its greatly appreciated!

Ah yes - I see where I cleared it. Sorry about that.

Glad it is working for you.
