Hi there, long time lurker.
I'd like to find values using just the CUSIP number with BDP.
For example,
Say the CUSIP is A1 and I want to find the ISIN number, what's the syntax?
Much thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum!
CUSIP? BDP? ISIN?
For the benefit of those of us who don't reside in North America, and who are not involved in finance, could you please give a little more information?
Please upload a workbook with some examples and your desired results clearly outlined.
Regards
CUSIP is an identification number for a security.
When using Bloomberg Data Point (BDP), the BDP function can return values using the ticker symbol. For example, if you want to return the last price for IBM, the formula would be: bdp(ibm us equity, "px_last")
What I'd like to know is, how can you use the CUSIP number instead of the ticker symbol to return values using the BDP function.
Ok, but is this primarily an Excel question? Or do we first need to acquire some prior knowledge of these functions involved before we can even begin?
If you can give us this prior knowledge, preferably with some examples, then I'm sure we can help.
Remember: this is an Excel forum. People here may not have the deep understanding of the context of the problems that people bring to them, but, suitably provided with enough information, what they are good at is translating that information into the necessary syntax in order to solve the problem in Excel.
At the moment, I'm afraid all you're providing is generalized, esoteric, financial terms which amount to practically nothing in terms of formulating a solution using Excel.
Regards
