There is little point saving a template in a Macro Enabled format if you are not using any macro's within the template itself. When you open a Macro Enabled excel file most computers with good security ask you to enable macros when you open it, personally, very annoying and especially annoying if the template is not actually using Macros.
I suggest unless you are using macros saving it in the standard excel format, you can always go back in at a alater date if you decide to add macros and then save it in the correct format.
Also, other viewers such as open office and most secure network/workplace PC's will not open an excel documents with macros so saving it without makes it easier to distribute.
