    Conditional Formatting highlighting expired dates

    Good morning!

I have tried a dozen different formulas and I am getting the wrong numbers highlighted every time, so I'm hoping someone can help.

    My table looks like this:

NAME / First Aid Expiry Date / Insurance Expiry Date
    Joe / 3/9/13 / 8/25/10

My dates are all entered as above and change themselves to the full Month #, 2014 format... so if that's the problem, please let me know. I have attached a sample.SAMPLE.xlsx

Anyways, what I am trying to accomplish is two flags - one for dates that have now expired, and one for dates that will expire in the next month - hopefully then we can remind the staff to renew ahead of time.

I have tried everything I can think of and that I can find on here, but it keeps highlighting random dates, that don't meet the criteria I am looking for.

Does the attached help? The expired dates are red, and any dates within a month of today are colored orange.
