Rank to the right, function or Macro

Hi All First post on this board and would be grateful if you could help me

I have got lots of data I need to rank however it is in different chunks, so I am just wondering if there is a formula/Macro where I can select the cells that require ranking and it then puts the rank in the right hand cells

EG select A1 to A6 run macro it will put the rank in B1-B6

Then

Select A8 to A10 run macro and it will put rank in B8 to B10

etc etc

however the data may not be in A column but all over the place

I have over 3000 different chunks of data and doing this manually is time consuming as I need to keep changing the REF to ensure it only ranks the required group

I would insert and example but I don't know how to do it

Hi and welcome to the forum

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

as you can see I have values down the furthest right column I want to rank them

But where its all separated by an error I would like to rank them also to them-self's

This is just a small example as the are 30000 rows of data

That column (colimn I) is all #REF errors? and the "chunks" you want to rank, they are divided by #VALUE?

Perhaps show a few samples of what you want?

Sorry for the delay. I think I have what you want, but I had to use 2 helper columns - you can hide these if you want.
