Hi there!
I am battling with the following problem:
In J5 I have =SUM(Diary!X7:X12).
In J6 I want=SUM(Diary!X57:X62).
In J7 I want = SUM(Diary!X107:X112)
etc.
How can I drag down the J colum to autofill the rows with the above criteria?

=SUM(INDEX(X:X,7+(ROWS(J$5:J5)-1)*50):INDEX(X:X,12+(ROWS(J$5:J5)-1)*50))

However, I don't quite get this formula to work.
Am I right in assuming to copy the formula into J6?
There is also no reference to the worksheet (!Diary) in your formula - do I not need this?

sorry about that. i used the current sheet instead. it should be placed in J5:
=SUM(INDEX(Diary!X:X,7+(ROWS(J$5:J5)-1)*50):INDEX(Diary!X:X,12+(ROWS(J$5:J5)-1)*50))
