Question Building a Comparison tool... possible?

Hi Guys,

I was asked to create an Excel version of this sharepoint/infopath thingy I did a while ago. I think that once ready Excel is much better suited for a thing like this, but I never did anything with advanced layouts and such in Excel.
Is this possible to do? What are my keywords to search?

Many thanks!

short explanation:
you can select 3 products and put them side by side. When you select a product it pulls in the data for that product from another list. Data labels in the blue column.
The three dropdown boxes are used for filtering products. (select a brand, select a type, and then the third dropdown box only shows products with that brand and type)
